Jeremy Paxton, the owner of the stunning Lower Mill Estate in the Cotswolds has decided to become the UK's first ever airborne private fire ranger. It is something that you wouldn't expect from a property developer.
Jeremy decided to take the plunge and take the international rescue styled qualification when he realised that the stunning local scenery which both he and his family have been working to preserve and develop for the last 15 or so years faced annihilation if a devastating forest fire struck.
What does this mean to local residents of the local area? Well, if there is a fire anywhere within the GL7 postcode, he can be there dousing the flames in minutes.
The private helicopter of the Lower Mill Estate is fitted with special fire fighting equipment, the kind you would expect to see in big budget Hollywood movies. A far cry from Hollywood, but the reality is that this fire fighting equipment is to help protect the 650 acre area's four thousand or so species of wildlife.
Speaking to local press at his exclusive development, Jeremy Paxton said: "tackling a wildfire with beaters and traditional fire hoses is often not effective, as, quite apart from anything else, getting close enough is impossible.
The great advantage from the air is that it's possible to drop a tonne of water every minute with pinpoint accuracy and so it's an unequalled tool in the battle against such habitat destroying fires."
Jeremy Paxton, is protecting the wildlife in the 650 acre estate where he is building 575 luxury holiday homes specially designed to exist in harmony with the natural environment.
The estate is renowned for being involved in diverse projects including the reintroduction of otters, beavers and house martens.
