Description

With access to a beautiful, shared orchard garden, it is the perfect gateway to explore the Cotswold countryside.

Only a minute’s walk away from the Mill Village outdoor pool, tennis courts, Somerford Lagoon, and the Activity Hub, Ruby Cottage is ideally situated for anyone looking to make the most of the facilities on offer at Lower Mill.

This cottage is also one of the few Mill Village properties to have access to Lower Mill Estate’s award-winning family spa, so if you are looking for a more relaxed holiday, you can book treatments with the spa therapists or enjoy time at the heated indoor and outdoor pools.

The property is pet friendly. 2 dogs are allowed at an additional cost.

Situated in one of Mill Village’s charming courtyards, Ruby Cottage is one of the original properties at Lower Mill. The décor of the property is modern and light with the downstairs consisting of a large open plan kitchen and lounge. Bay doors open out onto an orchard lined with fruit trees that provide a tranquil view to look out onto while enjoying your home-cooked meals.

The lounge area comes with a wall-mounted TV and a log fire, perfect for putting your feet up after a day exploring the Cotswolds countryside.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms are cosy and have plenty of cottage character including low situated windows overlooking the orchard and a pitched roof. Please note there is no room for a travel cot in the two bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a good size ensuite with a bath. The second bathroom is also upstairs and is a good size and is equipped with a shower.

The orchard is shared by 12 properties but only five, including Ruby Cottage, back out onto it giving you plenty of privacy. There is also a BBQ for you to make the most of the Great British summer.

Somerford Lagoon is only a minute's walk from your door, perfect for water lovers to launch their paddleboards and kayaks. These can be hired from the Activity Hub, also a minute's walk away from Ruby Cottage.

Spa opening times could be extended. 10am start on a Monday seems a little late for having a visit before heading out for the day.

The layout of Lower Mill Estate is car dominated which reduces the pedestrian safety and feels completely different to it's sister site, Silver lakes in Dorset which is much more pedestrian friendly and spacious layout.

Took our own paddleboards and the bits in the activity hub kindly stored them for us as our property had no where for this. Unless we had walked them through the property to orchard. Didn’t use restaurant as self catering and organised with food. Spa is a great asset and due to very hot weather we felt it was a good idea having blocks so no one monopolised the pool/outside area all day. Having been a couple years ago we did feel that it was getting a little dated and could do with painting to tidy it up.
